Mental health services are their own form of community mobilization, which is the leading indicator for health progress and reducing global disease burdens in the 21st century. Glacier works to support community mobilization, self-efficacy, community stabilization, and community empowerment through a dynamic range of outpatient services. While each service at Glacier has its own eligibility requirements, most services are appropriate for adults, children, families, and partners in care. By connecting with individuals and system partners, Glacier is able to achieve its mission of uncovering a better world through its focus on individuals and their direct systems of support. Presently, our service array includes:
Glacier creates space for stories of hardship caused by, mood disorders, childhood trauma, chronic thoughts of suicide, problems of attention, and other mental health issues. And we combine these stories with our knowledge of social events, including changes in racism, abortion rights, the criminalization of existence for trans persons, inflation, climate change, and global wars. Glacier knows that biological and environmental factors combine to influence suffering. We apply this understanding to therapy, using eclectic methods throughout our outpatient systems for recovery. Glacier's services are provided to adults, children, couples, and families with mental illness or social challenges. Medication management is a level of outpatient treatment that involves the initial evaluation of the need for psychotropic medications, the provision of a prescription, and ongoing medical monitoring related to the use of the psychotropic medication by a qualified prescriber. Medication management includes monitoring, reconciling medications, and ensuring patients get the desired outcomes. It requires a thorough review of prescribed drugs and their possible side effects to create treatment plans and monitor their safety and efficacy. Medications play a critical role in the treatment of various mental health issues. The right medication, combined with therapy, can reduce or eliminate symptoms of mental illness to significantly improve a patient’s quality of life.
Neurofeedback training is a process of teaching individuals to control brain activity by giving conscious feedback. While this service is not often covered by insurance, and may be considered "experimental" given the present research, numerous studies have found neurofeedback to show positive results over several decades.
